ANOTHER HAZING TRAGEDY?

Donnie Wade II, 20, a student at Prarie View A&M University, died as a result of hazing according to his family. Investigators say Wade II died after early morning excersises with his pledge brothers. In the lawsuit filed by the family, they claim Wade II underwent a strict diet of only bread and water, paddling and very rigorous excersises. The lawsuit filed against Phi Beta Sigma fraternity is worth $97 million. In essence, the lawsuit states that Wade II was put through extreme excersises after only having bread and water. When he complained of not being able to move his legs, some assisted while they were told not to worry. An attempt to call 911 was made but was said to be not needed. After collasping two times and passing out, the members decided to take Wade II home and only then did they decide to take him to the hospital where doctors say he arrived dead. Even though the cause of death is still being determined as the autopsy is being conducted, I feel the only conclusion it will affect is the outcome of the charges to be filed. Why must you be beaten or subjected to demeaning and pyhsically challenging tasks to become a part of an organization that is supposed to stand for greatness and bettering yourself as well as others around you?
