This story really touches me. It is about a condition I never knew existed. Shiloh Pepin, was born with Sirenomelia or "Mermaid Syndome". Doctors didn't give her much time to live after birth but the little angel managed to defy the odds for 10 years. Shiloh passed last Friday. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie....my eyes welled up just from the trailer! It may be a familiar storyline, but the emotions brought by the lead character Precious, ( Gabourey Sidibe), I think are definetly Oscar worthy. The movie is based on the novel PUSH by Sapphire ( gotta check the author out) and also stars Mo'Nique. Homegirl switched it up with this one! Can't wait to see her, even though I have a feeling I'm not gonna like her character. Mariah Carey and Paula Patton ( Idlewild) co star as a social worker and teacher, respectively. Kami Baker alongside her sister Barbie, described to school officials how her highschool is lacking proper security and how her and her friends feel unsafe. This comes after her 15 year old friend was gang raped outside of her school while the HomeComing Dance commenced. The girl was raped by 10 people for at least 2 1/2 hours. After being found under a bench, the girl was airlifted to a hospital where she was in critical condition but as of Tuesday, she is reported to be in stable condition. Police say their looking to arrest 20 people in the case and have arrested 19 year old Manuel Ortega. He is charged with rape, kidnapping and robbery. A 15 year old boy has also been arrested and he faces 1 count of felony sexual assault. These animals need to be locked UNDA the jail and school officials need to be held accountable. John Allen Muhammad, the sniper that killed 10 people in the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia areas, along with his accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo, back in 2002, is scheduled for the death penalty by lethal injection next month. Muhammed had the choice to choose between lethal injection or electrocution and choose neither. So by default, he gets the poison. Im not for or against the death penalty, but he deserves what he gets. Hell, give him both! Malvo is currently serving life in prison. (AP) The lawyer for Richard Heene has filed a claim against Larrimer County Sherrif Jim Alderen, stating he violated privacy laws by disclosing info about child welfare workers being involved in the case. Alderen denies any wrong doing and prosecuters are still reviewing the charges brought against Heene. In the meantime, the Boulder County D.A.'s office is investigating the claims against Alderen. A survey of 12,800 people has been conducted by the World Health Organization according to DAILY EXPRESS. They claim there is a link between excessive cellphone use and brain tumors. The report is scheduled to come out later this year and preliminary results show excessive exposure is linked to three different types of brain tumors and a salivary gland tumor. Im pretty sure you've heard about this story by now. Richard Heene and his wife Mayumi claimed their son Falcon, was flying in the air in a ballon created by Richard. All the major news stations covered the incident as the whole nation watched. Well now, the Larrimer County Sherrif's Dept. has presented a case to the D.A. in hopes to prosecute Richard, saying it was all a hoax. Mmm, check out the video above. It says it all! This is a very troubling story not only because it involves breast cancer but two young girls who have both been diganosed with the disease. Hannah Powell-Auslam, eleven years old, and Taylor Thompson, thirteen years old, along with their families, are battling breast cancer. Of course, carjacking is a crime and should be punishable but to visit minority neighborhoods to potentionally set someone up to commit that crime is obsurd. That's just my take on the issue.
